Hello! My name is Joseph Woodrow Stevens and this is my Blog. It's called Rabbits' Blog, because that was the name Mummy and Daddy gave me when I was still in Mummy's tummy. (Apparently Daddy's sister wanted to call my Daddy Rabbits when he was born!)

Anyway, Mummy and Daddy write stuff down here about me, 'cos they seem to think it's interesting. I just like all the pictures of me, 'cos I'm gorgeous! I hope you like what Mummy and Daddy have written here. Let them know if you do. They'd like to hear from you!

Lots of love and kisses!

Joseph goes to the seaside

Today saw Joseph's first visit to the seaside. I'm not sure about his first impressions because he was asleep when we arrived. I think he had a good day but that may have more to do with his Nanny, Grandad and Uncle than the affect of a little sea air. He had just woken up when the photo was taken and I'm not sure he appreciated sand between his toes.

Starting to play

Joseph is now 17 weeks and has just started to play. He is now taking a real interest in the world around him and is grasping any thing in reach. This morning he was smiling at his reflection in the mirror and he can often be found grinning at light fittings (no one can work out why). He plays with his soft activity cube and has tried with some limited success to push the button on his musical ball. He is still teething so bites the bear on his blankie but seems to have difficulty with teething rings as he only has a small mouth. He is a joy to be with.

There is life after childbirth

Great news! There is life after childbirth. Joseph has just started to take a 5 ounce bottle and is going 5 hours between feeds. This makes a huge difference. It means extra sleep overnight and more time to get things done during the day. The other day I made cakes while Joseph sat in his chair and watched and I've been able to get out into the garden on Craig's days off. Today we went an had lunch at the Horse and Groom. We sat outside and had lunch and fed Joseph while we were there. He was pretty good for most of the time and we were able to eat most of our lunch in peace. We went for a long walk afterwards and all in all it has been a lovely day.

The Whole Tooth...

Yes, he may only be 15 weeks old (and well over 8lb now), but the little lad is growing his first tooth! When he was born, he had a little bump of skin on his bottom jaw which we were a bit concerned about, but the medicos said it was nothing to worry about. Now it seems that he was growing a tooth under there. In the last couple of days, brave parents with foolhardy fingers have been having a little explore, and have found a little white bony ridge in his bottom jaw. So here we go into the wonderful world of teething! He's fine at the moment, but I'm sure there's worse to come!

It's true what Em said about his smile. He can be the biggest monster, crying at the top of his voice, weeing and being sick all over you and himself, and just when you're getting really fed up, he unleashes the most gorgeous, loving smile, and suddenly everything is alright. I just have to think about his smile when I'm having a bad day at work, and it cheers me up no end!
