Hello! My name is Joseph Woodrow Stevens and this is my Blog. It's called Rabbits' Blog, because that was the name Mummy and Daddy gave me when I was still in Mummy's tummy. (Apparently Daddy's sister wanted to call my Daddy Rabbits when he was born!)

Anyway, Mummy and Daddy write stuff down here about me, 'cos they seem to think it's interesting. I just like all the pictures of me, 'cos I'm gorgeous! I hope you like what Mummy and Daddy have written here. Let them know if you do. They'd like to hear from you!

Lots of love and kisses!

Anatomy Scan A-OK!

We had the second scan yesterday, and we're pleased to report that everything is fine. All organs and limbs appear to be formed properly and are all the correct size for 21 weeks. Rabbits was a bit ornery, and wouldn't turn so that the sonographer could get the correct view of the heart, and so Em had to keep coughing to jiggle her around! Eventually everything was measured correctly and we got another picture!

It was still incredible to see our baby again - at one point she turned to the "camera" so we could see her face. It looked a little strange as you could see the outline of the skull, as well as some of the facial features at the same time, but still, she was gorgeous!

Rabbits is moving!

Yes, Rabbits is moving. She's probably been moving for some time but now I can feel her. It's amazing and some how more real now. It first happened yesterday evening. I was having a little lay down on the bed (as you do) before Craig came home from work and I felt this really weird movement. Indigestion, I thought, but then it happened again and again and when I put my hand on my belly I could feel Rabbits bumping against it.

Well I was really excited and I willed Craig to be home but by the time he got home Rabbits had calmed down. Craig was really excited any way and then it happened again in the evening and he was able to feel her moving. You should have seen his face. It was like Christmas had come and he'd got the one present that he really wanted but did not expect to receive. it was a wonderful moment and I felt really loved.

I'm pregnant!!!

When I first found out I was pregnant I couldn't quite believe our luck. We'd been waiting so long that I didn't want to jinx any thing by believing. Funnily enough it has never felt strange. I am aware that there is a little life growing inside me but haven't yet been weirded by it.

I've just been to have my flu jab and caused panic. Fortunately it is safe to have the jab in the second trimester so now I'm protected for the winter. Given that I'm not allowed to take any of the cold and flu remedies I'm relieved they let me have the jab.

At 2 this morming I thought I might have felt Rabbits move but I'm not sure. It could have just been indgestion! I can't wait to feel her moving about (for the record I will call the baby her as I think it's a girl. I do not know for sure so don't go thinking I've let the cat out the bag). I think it will all seem much more real then.

Right I'm off to the shops now. Let's see if Mothercare has any clothes my size that aren't ridiculously hideous. Crazy Pregnant Ladies still want to look good you know!

Welcome to Rabbits' Blog

I was going to call it Rabbits' Hole, but that sounded a bit strange... As I said in the introduction, we've set this blog up so we can keep you all up to date with news of our first child, due to be born at the beginning of March, 2006. Emma is currently 20 weeks pregnant, so we're halfway (as a rule!)

The scan picture was taken during Em's first scan on the 28th August, at 13 weeks. It was incredible to see the baby, and really brought it home how real it all was! The scan was crystal-clear, and although the picture is good, it really doesn't do justice to how amazing it was to see Rabbits moving around. Em's next scan is booked for the 25th October, so we'll hopefully have another picture to post then. And no, before you ask, we're not going to find out what sex the baby is - we want it to be a surprise (although if the scan is as good as the last one, we might find out by accident!)

We'd like this to be as interactive as possible, so feel free to leave any comments, we'd love to hear from you.

Right, I'm off to fiddle with the template and what-not now I've got this first post under my belt!
